Last month was the month of fashion weeks and firsts.
First, it was Shanghai Fashion Week. The week after, we ventured to Jakarta for the launch of TXID at Jakarta Fashion Week. I have never been to either of the above fashion weeks, so it was exciting and eye-opening to see the different scenes.
TXID was the closing show on the first day of JFW 2016, and it was a much anticipated one. We were in the office the day before and it was a mad house. Guests were clamouring for tickets to this show and Jovanna, the Head of Marketing for Tex Saverio, had to beat them off with a stick. Figuratively, of course.
In comparison to Tex’s couture line, this was definitely much simpler, but no less edgy. Materials for this collection include polyurethane, neoprene and rayon polyester. Plus, the Spring/Summer 2016 print was inspired by graffiti art.
One of my favourite pieces from the TXID collection: the vest!
I am obsessed with vests and this one, I MUST HAVE IN MY CLOSET.
Above, you will see that TXID retains some of the Privé ready-to-wear elements such as laser cut.
Naturally, I dressed in Tex Saverio’s Privé Autumn/Winter 2015 collection for this show. I picked the laser cut out sweater and leggings as an ode to to Tex’s style.
I rounded the fashion week circuit off with the closing of Digital Fashion Week 2016 in Singapore. It was quite fitting that I closed off the jet-setting back on home-ground before jetting off to Manila.
